In East Ayrshire we take education seriously: our future success depends on having people with the right skills and knowledge. This commitment is reflected in an investment of £188M, both to construct new schools and refurbish existing ones.
Every school, college and higher education partner has strong links across the business community. This means students are often better prepared for joining the world of work, with more relevant qualifications.
Ayrshire College is at the heart of further education in the area. £53M has been invested in Kilmarnock town centre, building a new campus for 5,500 students. This state-of-the-art facility has everything needed to provide students with the right skills.
In addition, the University of West Scotland has a campus on our doorstep and offers a range of degree courses aligned to the labour market.
